How To Help

There are many ways you can help The One provide for our homeless neighbors.

If you’re the type that likes to see the fruits of your labor, check out our volunteer opportunities where you can directly affect those we serve. We also appreciate those that may not have the time but have the wherewithal to make a difference financially. If you’re interested in seeing what’s going on, visit our calendar of events.

  • As with any nonprofit, money is key to survival and for meeting the mission. The One, Inc. runs a very lean operation and financial donations are even more critical. If you can provide financial support of any amount, it would be greatly appreciated.

  • We go through material needs very quickly, The numbers of homeless neighbors who need basic supplies to survive require us to constantly collect items to deliver to them. You can bring your donations to one of our collection sites.
    - Current list of needs:
    - Men's jeans (all sizes)
    - Men's shirts (all kinds, all sizes)
    - Men's boots/shoes (all sizes)
    - Coats
    - Underwear (men's and women's, all sizes, new only please)
    - Socks
    - Tents
    - Tarps
    - Blankets
    - Sleeping bags
    - Razors/shaving cream

  • Volunteers are the lifeblood of our organization. We currently have a strong core of van drivers who give their time to deliver to our homeless neighbors. We also have a great volunteer warehouse coordinator who handles the organization of the warehouse donations.
Some ways we always need volunteers are:
    - Help organize the warehouse
    - Work in The Field
    - Organize a drive to collect items for winter
    - Organize fundraising drives to help provide supplies to our homeless neighbors.
    - Provide repair services for The Van, the warehouse and Kathryn's House
